Jack Elementary Schools.Where: K-3 Edna Libby School (both before & aftercare) 4-5 GEJ School (Both before & aftercare) Steep Falls - Before Care will drop off at perspective schools according to grade. Aftercare transportation provided by MSAD 6 as in previous school years.Participants who do not attend George E. Jack during the day will be transported by the MSAD6 transportation department. Winter Bingo & Lunch - Winter Bingo & Lunch
Winter is not a season...it is a celebration! Join us for a journey to South Portland Community Center to enjoy hot chocolate, winter treats and Bingo to celebrate and welcome back winter with our friends from other Recreation Departments. We will play some Bingo games with winter themes as we sip hot cocoa and enjoy a morning of fun with friends! We will stop at Willow's Pizza & Restaurant or another restaurant in South Portland for lunch on our way back to Standish.
Cost $15.00: includes transportation to South Portland, Bingo, hot cocoa & treats as well as stop for lunch on the way back to Standish (cost of lunch on your own)We will leave from Standish Town Hall at 8:45am and return at approximately 2:00pm.

Tai Chi - Tai Chi Session
Tai Chi is a relaxing and gentle exercise program. It uses slow, multi-directional movements to tone muscles, increase flexibility, improve balance, and to enhance the immune system. Tai Chi also reduces stress and helps to quiet and focus the mind. Studies have shown that it is effective in reducing blood pressure. There are many articles you can research online regarding it's benefits. Tai Chi practice is the recommended exercise for people with MS, Parkinson's Disease, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Daily practice gives an enhanced feeling of well-being.These classes are in the tradition of Chen Man Ching and Silk Reeling Chi Gong in the tradition of Grand Master Feng.Registration prior to class is mandatory and will be accepted at Town Hall or on-line at www.standishrec.com until the Wednesday before the class is held. Anyone wishing to register after the 8-week session begins will be charged for the entire class or a pro-rated fee of $8.00/class for the remainder of that session, whichever is lower.Please note: As a general rule, if the weather is bad and school is cancelled for MSAD6 or if there was a 1-2 day delay, there will be no class. The session will be extended out another week.Date: ThursdaysCost: 8 week session $64 or drop in $8 per class
Albert Delaney has studied Tai Chi with Grand Master William Chen, Chi Gong Master Kenneth Cohen, and Don Ethan Miller. He has been practicing Tai Chi for over twenty five years.

Beginner Yoga - Drop In - One class
Beginner YogaInstructor: Lisa KingLearn the fundamentals of yoga in a welcoming community. We will explore many traditional yoga postures and movements and help you find the best way to work with your unique body/mind. Through balancing effort and ease, students will increase strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance. Breathing practices and mindfulness will also be offered with a nice relaxation at the end of class. Every part of this class is an offering with no pressure to perform or compete. Modifications are offered. If you are a coach of a team, your child will be placed on the team you coach. Each age division will practice on the same day and time regardless of team placement. Volunteer Coaches:The success of this program relies heavily on parent volunteers. No experience is necessary! We can help you. If you enjoy working with kids and can follow a weekly curriculum provided by the recreation department, then you are well on your way to making a positive impact on a child in your community! We need you! You will always be teamed up with a co-coach, so you won't have to handle it alone. A 50% program fee credit will be applied to all volunteer coaches at the end of the season. Please be sure to fill out the volunteer paperwork before the start of Basketball season! Cancellations:In the event of game cancellations due to poor weather conditions, there will be a message on the Recreation Department's website and Facebook page. This message will not be posted until 4:00pm during the week or 8:00am for Saturday games. The message will only be posted if the game has been cancelled - if there is no message you should assume all games will be played. Dancers of all levels are encouraged to participate-it is a great form of exercise, not to mention a lot of fun! Registration prior to class is mandatory and will be accepted on-line or over the phone at 642-2875. $30 for 6 -week session.Anyone wishing to register after the session begins will be charged a pro-rated fee of $8/class for the remainder of the session.
Single class rate: $8 per class - PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST register prior to the class. NO payments will be taken by the instructor. Tai Chi - Tai Chi Session
Tai Chi is a relaxing and gentle exercise program. It uses slow, multi-directional movements to tone muscles, increase flexibility, improve balance, and to enhance the immune system. Tai Chi also reduces stress and helps to quiet and focus the mind. Studies have shown that it is effective in reducing blood pressure. There are many articles you can research online regarding it's benefits. Tai Chi practice is the recommended exercise for people with MS, Parkinson's Disease, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Daily practice gives an enhanced feeling of well-being.These classes are in the tradition of Chen Man Ching and Silk Reeling Chi Gong in the tradition of Grand Master Feng.Registration prior to class is mandatory and will be accepted at Town Hall or on-line at www.standishrec.com until the Wednesday before the class is held. Anyone wishing to register after the 8-week session begins will be charged for the entire class or a pro-rated fee of $8.00/class for the remainder of that session, whichever is lower.Please note: As a general rule, if the weather is bad and school is cancelled for MSAD6 or if there was a 1-2 day delay, there will be no class. Join us on a bus ride for water aerobics at the John P. Davan Indoor Pool at the Westbrook Community Center led by Loreen Kowalsky on Thursdays 2:10pm - 2:55 pm...no experience necessary. Line Dancing - Line Dancing
Dancers of all levels are encouraged to participate-it is a great form of exercise, not to mention a lot of fun! Registration prior to class is mandatory and will be accepted on-line or over the phone at 642-2875. $30 for 6 -week session.Anyone wishing to register after the session begins will be charged a pro-rated fee of $8/class for the remainder of the session.
Single class rate: $8 per class - PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST register prior to the class. NO payments will be taken by the instructor. Deb's School Year Cancellation/Weather Cancellation Policy: As a general rule, if the weather is bad and school is cancelled for MSAD6 we will NOT have class. Join us as we embark on an interactive tour of the Titanic with incredible re-creations of the Ship’s interior and exterior. Walk the halls, explore the galleries, peer into cabins, and meet passengers and crew throughout the voyage. View authentic artifacts, respectfully recovered from two and a half miles below the surface of the North Atlantic, which tell the real story behind Titanic’s journey from construction to eventual recovery. The genuine artifacts on display offer emotional connections to the forever-altered lives of those who were on board Titanic. After the exhibit we will stop at Faneuil Hall for lunch (cost on your own) and shopping before heading home. This trip is co-sponsored with Falmouth and Gorham Recreation Departments. Tai Chi - Tai Chi Session
Tai Chi is a relaxing and gentle exercise program. It uses slow, multi-directional movements to tone muscles, increase flexibility, improve balance, and to enhance the immune system. Tai Chi also reduces stress and helps to quiet and focus the mind. Studies have shown that it is effective in reducing blood pressure. There are many articles you can research online regarding it's benefits. Tai Chi practice is the recommended exercise for people with MS, Parkinson's Disease, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Daily practice gives an enhanced feeling of well-being.These classes are in the tradition of Chen Man Ching and Silk Reeling Chi Gong in the tradition of Grand Master Feng.Registration prior to class is mandatory and will be accepted at Town Hall or on-line at www.standishrec.com until the Wednesday before the class is held. Anyone wishing to register after the 8-week session begins will be charged for the entire class or a pro-rated fee of $8.00/class for the remainder of that session, whichever is lower.Please note: As a general rule, if the weather is bad and school is cancelled for MSAD6 or if there was a 1-2 day delay, there will be no class. Join us on a bus ride for water aerobics at the John P. Davan Indoor Pool at the Westbrook Community Center led by Loreen Kowalsky on Thursdays 2:10pm - 2:55 pm...no experience necessary. In fact, you do NOT even have to know how to swim! Did you know there are many benefits to water aerobics? Dancers of all levels are encouraged to participate-it is a great form of exercise, not to mention a lot of fun! Registration prior to class is mandatory and will be accepted on-line or over the phone at 642-2875. $30 for 6 -week session.Anyone wishing to register after the session begins will be charged a pro-rated fee of $8/class for the remainder of the session.
Single class rate: $8 per class - PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST register prior to the class. NO payments will be taken by the instructor. Deb's School Year Cancellation/Weather Cancellation Policy: As a general rule, if the weather is bad and school is cancelled for MSAD6 we will NOT have class. Also, if there is a 1 or 2 hour delay, there will not be class and the session will be extended out another week.

Pleasant Mountain Ski Club 2025 - Ticket & Transportation
Join our 6 week ski and ride program on Tuesday nights at Pleasant Mountain in Bridgton ME. The Standish Recreation bus/van will pick up at school dismissal from George E Jack & Steep Falls, parent pick up at 9pm at Standish Municipal Center. If we have to cancel due to weather we will reschedule the day and it will be added on to the program.If you have any question please email or call the Recreation office at 207-642-3461 or Robrienhalla@standish.orgPlease make sure to fill out to Pleasant Mountain Registration Info and email me the paperwork when done.Helmets are required for all Skiers and Riders!!We Need Chaperone's For This Program! Chaperone's Lift Ticket is Free when you sign the wavier.
