Summer Camp information


Standish Parks & Recreation Summer Camps

We offer a 7-week summer camp experience for kids entering grades K-9. Our three rec camps are located at two elementary schools in Standish. Campers of all ages will enjoy a variety of indoor/outdoor activities including field trips, special events, arts & crafts, sports, swimming, and games. Our experienced staff will promote fun through healthy, balanced, and safe activities. 

More information, including camp fees, will be available closer to the registration date, March 1st.

Example of field trips (depending on age) could include: hiking trails, local/state parks, playgrounds, beaches, Seadogs game, Urban Air, Funtown, Smitty's Game Lab and Movies, canoe/kayaking, bowling, Aquaboggan, mini-golf, team building, and more.

Camp Locations:
Camp Edna (entering grades K-3 in the fall )

Held at Edna Libby Elementary School. 
Camp Jack (entering grades 4-5 in the fall )
Held at George E. Jack Elementary School.  
Adventure Camp (entering grades 6-9 in the fall ) 
Held at George E. Jack Elementary School. 
Bonus Week Camp (8th week): (all grades K-5 together, one location)

Held at George E. Jack Elementary School (one week only)

Regular Camp Day:
 9:00am - 3:30pm (field trips and scheduled activities occur between these hours)
Extended Camp Day:
 7:00am - 5:30pm (supervised, non-structured activities occur during these extended am/pm hours)

Bonus Week Camp (8th week): held at GEJ School for grades K-5 only
7:00am - 5:30pm
Bonus Week combines all grades K-5 at one location with a limited number of campers. We use GEJ school as the home base for this camp and each day has a field trip off site for the majority of the day.

Campers who register for all 7 weeks of either regular day or extended day will benefit from the discounted rate. Campers attending at least 5 weeks, should register for the full 7 weeks of camp and save. Campers who will attend fewer than 5 weeks should register at the weekly rate.  

Online Registration Process:

Resident Registration Begins Wednesday, March 1
Non-Resident Registration Begins March 12
A deposit of $200 is required at the time of registration for full summer.  
A deposit of $75
is  is required for each week at registration for 'by the week'.
Balance in full for all camp registrations is due by June 15

Refund Policy:
If your child withdraws from camp, written notice must be given five business days prior to your child's withdrawal from the program in order to receive a refund, minus a $25 administrative fee. If your child withdraws prior to the start of the program, five business days notice is not required for a refund but a $25 administrative fee will be charged. Notice can be given by email to Ryan French at  

Please Note: Campers who are registered for the full 7-week program will pay a discounted rate. Campers who register for individual weeks will pay the regular rate. If a refund is requested, it will be figured based on the the total number of weeks attended rather than how many weeks were originally registered. The Parks & Recreation Department recognizes there can be extenuating circumstances and maintains the right to handle refunds on a case-by-case basis as necessary.the full summer (or until the program fills). After June 15, the weekly rate applies for the available weeks.
Final Payments Due: Please note that payments are required in full by June 15. If you have questions regarding your balance or would like to set up a payment plan, please call the Parks & Recreation Department at 642-2875.
