Dancers of all levels are encouraged to participate-it is a great form of exercise, not to mention a lot of fun! Registration prior to class is mandatory and will be accepted on-line or over the phone at 642-2875. $30 for 6-week session; $8.00 drop inThe new 6-week session will be 11/18/25-12/30/25...session extended due to cancellation on 12/2/25.Anyone wishing to register after the session begins will be charged a pro-rated fee of $8/class for the remainder of the session. Single class rate: $8 per class - PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST register prior to the class. NO payments will be taken by the instructor.                    Deb's School Year Cancellation/Weather Cancellation Policy: As a general rule, if the weather is bad and school is cancelled for MSAD6 we will NOT have class. Also, if there is a 1 or 2 hour delay, there will not be class and the session will be extended out another week.

       Please join us with Instructor Lisa King who will lead you in weekly Strength & Balance in a safe setting. "Strength and balance" refers to a combination of muscular power and the ability to maintain stability and control over your body position, essentially meaning having strong muscles that also allow you to stay balanced during movement.According to Lisa..."Movement is medicine! Join this fun, dynamic class. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your muscles, build bone, support your joints, or improve your balance...this class is for you. Movement sequences are thoughtfully designed to safely and gradually explore therapeutic movements that will improve your quality of life. Strength training can be done with or without small hand weights. Much of the class can be done from a chair or from standing, and all are welcome! 9:15 AM - 10:30 AM    Tai Chi - Tai Chi Session
                  Tai Chi is a relaxing and gentle exercise program. It uses slow, multi-directional movements to tone muscles, increase flexibility, improve balance, and to enhance the immune system. Tai Chi also reduces stress and helps to quiet and focus the mind. Studies have shown that it is effective in reducing blood pressure. There are many articles you can research online regarding it's benefits. Tai Chi practice is the recommended exercise for people with MS, Parkinson's Disease, and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Daily practice gives an enhanced feeling of well-being.These classes are in the tradition of Chen Man Ching and Silk Reeling Chi Gong in the tradition of Grand Master Feng.Registration prior to class is mandatory and will be accepted at Town Hall or on-line at www.standishrec.com until the Wednesday before the class is held.  Anyone wishing to register after the 8-week session begins will be charged for the entire class or a pro-rated fee of $8.00/class for the remainder of that session, whichever is lower.Please note:  As a general rule, if the weather is bad and school is canceled for MSAD6 or if there was a 1-2 day delay, there will be no class.                   Are you staying home for the Holidays? Join us for an afternoon of fun in the Sebago Lake Room at Standish Town Hall to play a variety of board games, listen to holiday music and enjoy light holiday refreshments. We did this last year and had so many laughs. If you wish to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift that costs about $10.00 for a "Gift Swap"...instructions detailed at event. Invite your friends and family for this festive event.Cost $5.00 for light refreshments.This event will take place in the Sebago Lake Room at Standish Town Hall from 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Each week we will take on new Myths to see if they are busted or confirmed, with multiple myths each week! This program is promised to be as fun as it is messy!Week 1 - Soda Bottle Myths (Monday January 5th)- Tornado bottles- Exploding mentos- Soda cleaning penniesWeek 2 - Water Myths (Tuesday January 12th)- Waterproof coats- Floating BoatsWeek 3 - Food Myths (Tuesday January 26th)- Landing toast- Making butter- Disappearing candy**Transportation provided from George E Jack, Edna Libby, and Steep Falls Elementary at school dismissal. Homeschooled students are welcome to attend but must provide their own transportation for a 3:30PM arrival**
