Wilbur's of Maine Chocolate Factory Tour & LL Bean
Please join us on our journey for a day of fun in Freeport. We will first visit Wilbur's of Maine Chocolate Confections, a family owned and operated business in Freeport since 1983, where we will enjoy a guided tour of the factory, watch candy-making demonstrations through their factory viewing window, and learn how premium chocolate is molded, dipped, and packaged by hand. The experience includes behind-the-scenes views of production equipment that is used day-to-day, interactive exhibits showing how cocoa becomes chocolate and a video that gives the history of chocolate & Wilbur's. The tour ends with samples of Wilbur’s finest confections and time to shop the retail store filled with irresistible sweets. Questions are encouraged during the tour that takes approximately 30 minutes. There will be no stairs and minimal walking.
After our tour, we will head to LL Bean, where we will enjoy shopping at their newly renovated/reimagined Flagship store that also has a newly expanded 1912 Cafe' on the 2nd floor, offering a comfortable place to relax and refuel either before your shopping adventure or afterwards. You will have the opportunity to eat and shop from approximately 12:00pm-3:00pm before we head back to Standish. There is an elevator at LL Bean for your shopping convenience.
Cost: $22.00 includes tour, transportation and staffing (cost of lunch on your own). This is a contractual program, so no refunds unless a replacement can be found.
We will meet at Standish Town Hall and leave promptly at 10:00am and return at approximately 4:00pm. Please park in the upper-level parking lot.
