Let's go on this exciting adventure together at Norlands Living History Center in Livermore...it is surely worth the drive!
Step back into the 19th century and enjoy an afternoon of history and fun at Maine’s oldest living history farm and museum. Norlands is a multifaceted museum offering in-depth experiences in 18th and 19th century rural life.
They will offer something special for our group known as "Meal, Laugh & Learn" that will involve a tour of the Mansion on site and learning the history of the Washburn Family, savor a homemade Country Luncheon with a seasonal dessert prepared on site (Menu to be determined...In the past, the meal consisted of a chicken pot pie, coleslaw, pickled beets, cornbread and a seasonal dessert), and participate in a mock day of school in their one room school house. If we are lucky that day, we will get a quick peek at Molly the horse, 3 sheep and 5 goats. At various points in the day, staff will be dressed in costume that match that period in history. They will spend 3 hours bringing us back in time!
There will be some walking involved, so advised to wear comfortable footwear.
Cost: $50.00 includes transportation, tour and lunch. This is a contractual program, so no refunds unless a replacement can be found.
We will meet at Standish Town Hall and leave promptly at 9:30am and return at approximately 3:30pm. Please park in the upper level parking lot.
