Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1966 in cooperation with the State of Maine to protect valuable salt marshes and estuaries for migratory birds.
Join us as we visit the preserve in Wells for a stroll on The Carson Trail - a one-mile, mostly level path,  with a gravel and boardwalk surface. The looped path passes through coastal forests and offers view of one of southern Maine's most valuable ecosystems--the salt marsh.

After our walk we will head down to Stonewall Kitchen for a little shopping and lunch ( on your own) before heading home
